Theme Days
Definition
A time management approach where specific days of the week are dedicated entirely to a single type of work, eliminating context switching by batching similar activities together across the whole day.
Why it matters
Context switching between fundamentally different types of work, such as creative work, meetings, and administrative tasks, carries a significant cognitive cost. Theme days eliminate this by creating predictable, deep focus blocks aligned to a specific mode of working.
Example
A founder designates Mondays for strategy and planning, Tuesdays and Wednesdays for client work and content creation, Thursdays for all calls and meetings, and Fridays for admin, finance review, and learning. She no longer loses creative mornings to scheduling or strategic afternoons to inbox management.
