Traction
Definition
Measurable evidence that your business is working, real customers, growing revenue, rising user numbers, or other hard data showing the market wants what you're building.
Why it matters
Traction is what separates an idea from a business. Every investor asks for it. Every founder needs it to stay motivated. Your first 10 paying customers is traction.
Example
"We launched 6 weeks ago, have 120 paying subscribers at £25/month, and grew 35% week-on-week for the last 3 weeks." That is traction.
