Video Podcast

Definition

A podcast that is recorded with video as well as audio, distributed on both podcast platforms and video platforms such as YouTube or TikTok, allowing the same content to reach multiple audience types.

Why it matters

Video podcasts multiply content distribution without doubling production. The same conversation becomes a YouTube video, short-form clips, audiogram posts, and an audio episode, dramatically increasing the content output relative to recording time.

Example

A founder records her weekly podcast interview on camera. The full video goes to YouTube, the audio to Spotify and Apple Podcasts, three sixty-second clips go to Instagram Reels and TikTok, and the transcript becomes a newsletter issue. One recording session generates seven pieces of content across four platforms.
