Voting Rights

Definition

The power that shareholders have to vote on important company decisions, usually based on the shares they hold.

Why it matters

Voting rights decide who controls big decisions, so giving them away affects how much say you keep over your company.

Example

A founder holding the majority of voting rights can approve a key decision even if some investors disagree.
