Win Rate

Definition

The percentage of sales opportunities you successfully close compared with the total number you pursued. Win Rate = Deals won / Total deals worked, expressed as a percentage.

Why it matters

It tells you how effective your sales process is. A low win rate may mean you are chasing the wrong leads or your offer is not compelling, while a high rate signals strong product-market fit.

Example

A founder has 20 discovery calls in a month and signs 5 clients. Her win rate is 25 percent, which she tracks monthly to see if her pitch improvements are working.
